Downtown Adventures

Hat/Shirt, Melrose Flea Market; Shorts, Forever 21; Shoes, H&M.

I'm on spring break! Wooo! So my friend and I decided to explore downtown LA. The last two were from the Art District at Wurstkuche which is the best sausage place ever! Then we headed over to Olvera Street and went into the Avila Adobe, the oldest house in Los Angeles! I'm just loving the heat out here!
That's my friend Celine. She's awesome. Those are pictures of her trying to be a cactus.

4 days until Coachella 2012!!!!

Spring Rains

Top, Thirfted; Sweater, Goodwill; Jeans, BDG-OU; Shoes, Vintage.

Halley

My sister!
Top, Lush; Skirt, Topshop; Shoes, Doc Martens; Scarf, Cotton On.

So here I am, ready for spring, and then there's a storm and it rains. So I layered up in my winter darks and opened up my closet for something warm and my new pale pink cashmere from Goodwill calls to me.
I know cashmere is a wintery/fall fabric, like velvet, but in the right colors it's the perfect summer night sweater, or, as seen here, spring layer.

I was at my friend Halley's beautiful house. You can see her room, and her makeup there. She took a good hour to get ready. I got a few good pictures of her make-up process before my camera ran out of batteries. She's always cute, and my best shopping buddy. Then there's Holly. She's cute and has a great fashion sense too (since she just wears my clothing) but we're working on getting her a new wardrobe for next year.

Dazed and Confused

 My sissy poo

That's what I like about these High School girls; I get older, they stay the same age.

So I told you I would complain about my camera in my next post and so here we go. I used my brother's camera and as you can see, on any picture of me (Holly's turns out fine every time), some part of the picture is blurry. Either my feet are blurry or my face is blurry.
Either way, this was our first real photoshoot and it was fun. Hopefully I get a new camera sooner or later and we'll go to somewhere cool to shoot.

Have a great week guys,

One day, Two looks

(Read more about my hairstyle at the end of the post)

Shirt, Lush; Sweater, Lush; Pants, BGD; Bag, Vintage; Shoes, Vintage.

Here's a new look. I was actually in a rush to go meet my friend for lunch and threw this on and made Holly take a picture for me before I left. I loved this because, yes, you've seen both the tops before but the colors, oy. And it was so casual.
Fun fact about the shoes, I've had them for almost four years and bought them used. I've never needed a new pair of a type of shoe so badly before but why spend $45 when I just have these!

So I came home from this lunch and I thought I would have like ten minutes to get ready to go see My Fair Lady (to which I was supposed to be a bit fancy) so I kept the pants and the shirt and it was a whole new outfit. Take a look:

Shirt, Lush; Jacket, Vintage Anne Klein; Pants, BGD; Shoes, UO Kimchi Blue.

So, you can't tell in the picture because the color's all messed up but the shoes and the jacket are practically the same color and it looks awesome. We were almost late for the play and I actually had to run in these shoes, and let me tell you, it was not fun (but it was, apparently, funny to watch). You have to jump from one foot to another, it's not even really running.

I showed a picture of my hairstyle at the beginning, and I'll explain. I saw this post on Brandy Melvilles blog about the "french braid updo" that one of their employees does and I liked it but my hair is pretty short as you can see. So I did a normal braid but angled up and it's still (9 hours later) holding up there, then I took my sisters (well mine now, she gave it to me) hair pin and managed to hook it on. It stayed up all day and all night no problem. Definitely a new favorite of mine.

I'll complain about my camera in my next post which is all from this "nicer" camera I borrowed from my brother.

Have a great weekend,

Oh Captain! My Captain!

Shirt, Lush; Skirt, H&M; Socks, Steve Madden; Shoes, Vintage; Glasses, Flea Market.

So today my friend from Arizona came into town and I wanted to look good for a day of shopping and sightseeing. I actually wore this to a job interview at Brandy Melville a few weeks ago but I had the shirt tucked in.
Somehow, it was perfect for the beach. I took off the socks and shoes and I could run in the water easily, since the skirt is short. I did end up getting a ton of sand into my shoes to take these pictures though.
Beautiful day though. 75-80 degrees in December is my kind of weather.

Happy New Years everyone.

It's the most wonderful time of the year

Sweater, Lush; Collared Shirt, Vintage; Skirt, H&M; Shoes, Kimchi Blue • Urban Outfitters

I decided to pick something comfy and honestly pretty warm for Christmas. Ah, the wonderful movie (Sherlock Holmes 2) and Asian Cuisine (the Chinese restaurant had a long wait). Got to love the holiday season.
I've been wanting to wear wedges with socks for a while, and I'm glad I did. It kept my toes warm all day. Yes, LA does get kind of cold... Kinda. And I really do love the rust color of this jacket. I wear it all the time, even with just leggings. I also wore it with a jean collared shirt (super cute color combo).
Well, ignoring my odd faces, I'm glad I got a picture of this outfit. I have a hard time taking model-type pictures with close friends, they all tend to laugh at me.

Well enough of my jibber-jabber, I hope you all had a great Chrismas and to all a good night.

December in Los Angeles

Skirt, Lush; Top and shoes, vintage.

It may be december, but here in LA it's still feeling like fall. I had bought this skirt ($45 on Nasty Gal and I found it for $25!) about a month ago but since it was getting cold I wasn't sure if I could wear it. I dressed it up with a cashmere sweater to keep warm. Here's to sunny days.
